September Meeting:
Join the Sand Lake Garden Club on Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Sand Lake Town Hall for a fascinating program by David Besozzi on Asian inspired gardening. David has visited over 100 Japanese, Chinese, and Korean gardens across North America. He is a retired educator and passionate gardener who has transformed his own backyard into a zen oasis since 2009 named " Songi Yuan ". Learn about how to create your own place of peace from David. The garden club meets at 6 PM for refreshments with the program to follow at 6:30.
October Meeting
Wow , what a weather year ! First an
overly wet spring and then a killing drought. Join the Sand Lake
Garden Club on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 6 PM for an informative weather
program by Alicia Wasula [ author, meteorologist, and president of
STEM Weather ]. She will explain meteorology in a way that is
applicable to not just gardeners but to anyone who loves the
outdoors. Climate change will be discussed also.
Alicia is the author of a new educational book
called " A Weather Primer for Gardeners " [ copies will be available
for sale - $20, no checks ] This program will be held at the Sand
Lake Town Hall - refreshments at 6 PM with the program at 6:30. Our
meetings are free and open to all - hope to see you on the 23rd !
